Our Previous Work

In this section, we’d like to show some of our previous work. Some clients can be very specific in their demands. Other clients ask for advice, discuss their ideas and together we find the best approach. We thought it might be interesting to have the locations, to give an idea . . .

New Hedge

We were asked to plant a new hedge along the front and side of the corner plot to prevent people from walking across it. The front hedge was to be Taxus, while the side hedge, approximately 60 m long, was planted with native wildlife species.

Fence and returf

This garden had been completely ruined by their dogs, with overgrown shrubs and trees leaving it in a very poor state. We were asked to tidy the area, install a wooden fence to keep the dogs out, and returf the garden.

Parterre

This photo doesn’t do it justice. We designed a parterre using the existing large Buxus plants, creating a new layout to unify all the planting. A new focal tree was planted, surrounded by rosemary, with a long line of lavender added for summer colour and fragrance. The area was finished with bark chippings for a polished, aesthetic look.

Full Garden Transformation

This was a full garden transformation featuring a wooden frame to walk under, painted in dark tones to create a striking wow factor. We planted a long line of Photinia trees, underplanted with blue and white Agapanthus and Hebe, achieving a look that is both simple and lushly showy. The brick wall was raised to provide ample soil depth, and a metal edging was added around the borders for a clean, finished appearance.

New path & Sleeper border

This part of the garden was very uneven and needed some attention from the Mimosa team. Sleepers were installed and topsoil added to create a more level and inviting area. Stepping stones and gravel were laid to provide a smooth and pleasant path from the studio room into the garden.

Repainted fence and returf

This garden had a significant slope and was overrun with weeds and rubble. The fences were repainted, and new turf was laid to create a fresh, polished appearance.

Garden under transformation

A full transformation of the back garden. We were asked to create a more mature feel, incorporating established trees such as Photinia ‘Pink Marble’ and standard-shaped holly, while ensuring the ground was fully planted with a mix of foliage, seasonal colour, and winter/spring flowering bulbs for year-round interest.

Front drive

The front drive had become dry and overgrown, with old worn stones that no longer worked. We transformed the space by creating raised beds on both sides of the gravel drive, adding quality soil and plants. The refreshed gravel drive now looks and feels completely new.

New borders and lawn

This garden was in poor condition when we arrived. We created new borders using sleepers, re-laid the lawn, and planted a variety of plants to give the garden a fuller, year-round look.

Garden Upgrade

The drop from the patio into the garden was quite dramatic, so we raised the area by bringing in 20 tonnes of topsoil and creating new sleeper-edged borders. Irrigation was installed, and a mix of trees, shrubs, and perennials were planted to provide colour and interest throughout the year.

We cleared out old, worn shrubs, levelled the ground, laid fresh turf, and installed a sleek metal border for a clean, polished finish.
