May is here, and the garden is really waking up. This is the time of year when everything seems to explode with colour. Alliums are putting on a show, peonies are starting to open, foxgloves are shooting up, and there are still plenty of tulips hanging around if you look closely.
🚫No Mow May
If you’re taking part in No Mow May, you’re doing something really positive for your garden. Letting the grass grow for a few weeks encourages wildflowers to emerge, brings in bees and butterflies, and creates a more natural thriving space.
🌸Beautiful Plants Ready For Your Garden
We’ve got a lots of plants in stock right now. The alliums are at their peak, and we’ve just brought in a great batch of summer bedding. Plus plenty of shrubs, perennials, and trees if you’re after something more permanent.
So if you’ve been thinking about adding something new or just want to freshen up a corner of the garden, now’s a perfect time.
💦Watering Tips For May
As the weather starts to warm up, it’s important to keep an eye on watering, especially for newly planted bedding, pots and hanging baskets.
- Water early morning or evening to avoid evaporation
- Give plants a good soak rather than little and often
- Pots and baskets will dry out fastest, so check them regularly
- Keep soil consistently moist, especially while plants are establishing
A little extra attention now will help your plants thrive right through the summer.

May is packed with garden events. The RHS Malvern Spring Festival (May 7 to 10) and Chelsea Flower Show (May 19 to 23) are both brilliant for picking up new ideas and seeing what’s possible.
